Phil Cook's Moving "Another Mother's Son"
"He Didn’t Make It
He Didn’t Make It Home, It’s Like She Always Feared
Will We Whitewash Our Fences With Her Tears
LIke We Always Do?"
Phil Cook asks in the first verse of his latest release, "Another Mother's Son". Today Cook shared the third song off his upcoming full length album and a personal essay on the story behind the song. Inspired not only by the birth of his own son but also the 2016 shooting of Philando Castile, Cook's perspective on modern America both in song and essay remind us of the true power of music.
